About Erricoon Mainecoons
Based in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Erricoon Mainecoons is a dedicated GCCF registered cattery committed to preserving the health, temperament, and classic standard of the true to type Maine Coon cat.
Our story and passion
A lifelong love for animals of all sizes led naturally to Maine Coons. Working daily as a dog and cat groomer, my dream was always to care for and breed these magnificent gentle giants. Our journey officially started when Ophelia (Gaia Ophelia Bayun Forever) joined the family in January 2026. With guidance from a trusted mentor, we entered the show ring at the Supreme Cat Show in Liverpool. Since then, we have travelled across the UK and Ireland—competing from Bristol and Kent to Cork and Wincanton—celebrating the wonderful personality and grandeur of this breed.
Honouring the true American type
We focus on the traditional American type: strong muzzles, substantial boning, round yet oblique eyes, gently curved profiles, and lushly tufted ear tips and paws. This honors the founding cats, maintaining that classic wild expression combined with an affectionate, steady temperament.
Health is paramount in everything we do. All our breeding cats undergo comprehensive veterinary care, including heart echocardiograms and hip scoring, alongside DNA testing to ensure they are clear from HCM, SMA, and PkDef.

Looking to the future
Our girls, Gaia Ophelia Bayun Forever (Kitten Champion) and Rocsicoon Honeysuckle Serotina, regularly bring home first-place rosettes, Best of Breed awards, and Best of Variety nominations. Serotina is our maiden queen, with her first planned litter anticipated for September 2027.
All Erricoon kittens are reserved exclusively for show or loving pet homes. Every kitten leaves neutered or spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and treated for fleas and worms to ensure the best possible start in life.
